Transmission 06 · Signal open

Trauma Dawgs

Protective responses are not bad dogs. They are a pack doing difficult work with information that may be old, urgent, or both.

Protective pack · Choice · Better afterwards

Transmission brief

Meet the dogs. They have notes.

Week 6 externalizes protective survival responses without shaming them, then asks how attention, attunement, choice, and relational home can make a better afterwards.

Signal traces

  • Gentle naming can create distance from a response without making the response an enemy.
  • A better afterwards is observable in the conditions around an experience, not in a demand to perform calm.
  • Choice is part of safety because control cannot be rebuilt by taking more control away.

The classroom uses Maya-led discussion and optional activity work; the metaphor is never used to diagnose students.

Public boundary: The public station keeps the metaphor at an orientation level and does not host worksheets, personal reflections, or clinical guidance.

Optional machine route

Try this with a machine

The machine can digest the transcript. You have to supply the encounter. If you bring neither, it will still produce 900 confident words, which is precisely the problem.

The prompt remains visible for manual copying.

What would a better afterwards look like if it were built around relation and choice rather than compliance?
